Northern Armour Shipping Policy

At Northern Armour, we strive to get your detailing supplies and coatings to you quickly and safely. Please review our shipping guidelines below, particularly regarding hazardous materials and winter weather protection.

1. Order Processing Time

  • Standard Processing: All orders are processed within 1–2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).

  • Same-Day Shipping: Orders placed before 1:00 PM EST on business days typically ship the same day, subject to stock availability.

  • High Volume: During sales events or peak season, processing times may extend by 24–48 hours.

2. Shipping Rates & Estimates

We ship exclusively within Canada and to the USA. Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the weight of your liquids and your location.

  • Free Shipping: We offer free ground shipping on Canadian orders over 200$ (before tax). Note: Oversized items (5-gallon pails) may be excluded from free shipping.

  • Carriers: We primarily use UPS, FedEx, Purolator, and Canpar.

3. Winter Shipping Policy (November – April)

Current Status: WINTER SHIPPING IN EFFECT Due to the Canadian climate, water-based products (compounds, clay lubes, silica sprays) and ceramic coatings are at risk of freezing during transit.

  • Thermal Protection: We highly recommend selecting "Insulated Shipping" at checkout during winter months.

  • Shipping Schedule: To prevent packages from sitting in unheated trucks or warehouses over the weekend, we do not ship liquids on Fridays during freezing conditions. Orders placed Thursday afternoon or Friday will ship the following Monday.

  • Risk of Loss: If you decline thermal protection, Northern Armour is not responsible for products that arrive frozen or separated.

4. Hazardous Materials (Dangerous Goods)

Certain products we sell (solvent-based dressings, coating prep sprays, aerosols, and some ceramic coatings) are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) by Transport Canada.

  • Ground Only: DG items must be shipped via Ground service. They cannot be shipped via Air (Express/Priority) due to safety regulations.

  • PO Boxes: Most couriers cannot deliver Dangerous Goods to PO Boxes. Please provide a physical street address to avoid delays.

  • Remote Areas: In rare cases, carriers may impose a surcharge for delivering DG to remote locations. We will contact you if this applies to your order.

5. Signature Requirement

To ensure the security of high-value shipments (such as bulk ceramic coating orders or polishers):

  • Orders over 500$ may require a signature upon delivery.

  • If you are not available to sign, the carrier may leave a notice for pickup at a local depot.

6. Damages & Lost Packages

While we pack our heavy liquids with extreme care, damage can occur.

  • Damaged Items: If your package arrives leaking or damaged, please contact us at support@northernarmour.ca within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the box and the damaged product. We will handle the claim with the carrier.

  • Lost Packages: If your tracking indicates "Delivered" but you have not received it, please check with neighbors first. If it is still missing, contact us immediately so we can initiate a trace investigation with the carrier.

7. Incorrect Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing a correct and complete shipping address.

  • If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address (missing Unit # or incorrect postal code), the customer is responsible for the return shipping fee charged by the carrier, as well as the re-shipping cost.
