Acid wheel cleaners have always come with a trade-off. The strong ones cut through baked-on brake dust, but they sheet off the wheel before they can really work, so you end up reaching for more product, more exposure, and more risk. And then there's the smell.
AWX rewrites that. Powerful acid ingredients are paired with a high-adhesion surfactant system that clings to the wheel instead of running straight off, giving the acid more dwell time and more cleaning power at lower overall exposure. It breaks down heavy brake dust, metallic fallout, and embedded grime with more control and a cleaner, easier rinse.
The surfactant package encapsulates the contamination it lifts, so it rinses away with far less residue than a traditional acid. Dial the strength to the job through dilution, from neglected wheels at full strength to routine upkeep heavily diluted. And instead of that throat-burning acid stink, you get a clean, fresh laundry scent.
This is professional strength chemistry. Cool wheels only, and standard acid handling applies.
Why Do Canadians Need It?
Canadian wheels take a beating. Winter brings relentless brake dust, iron fallout, and salt-laden road grime that cakes onto barrels and bolts faster than it would in a milder climate.
AWX is built to handle that level of buildup at full strength, then dial back to a gentle maintenance dilution once the salt is off the roads. One bottle covers the worst of a Canadian winter and the easy upkeep that follows.
How Do I Use It?
- Work on cool wheels only, out of direct sunlight. Never apply to hot or warm wheels.
- Choose your strength: full strength for heavy, neglected wheels, 1:1 for medium brake dust, 3:1 for light maintenance.
- Test in an inconspicuous area before full application.
- Spray evenly across the wheel surface.
- Allow a short dwell, but do not let the product dry on the surface.
- Agitate stubborn areas with a wheel brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
Safety: For professional or experienced users. Wear gloves and eye protection, work in a well-ventilated area, and follow standard acid-handling practices. Not recommended for bare aluminum, anodized, damaged, or improperly coated wheels.
The cleaner
For wheels past the easy stage
AWX is an acid wheel cleaner for the jobs gentler chemistry cannot finish. Years of baked brake dust, metallic contamination, and embedded grime dissolve off wheels that looked permanently ruined.
It is the neglect correction tool, and by dilution it scales down to routine maintenance strength.

The technology
Acid that clings instead of running
AWX pairs powerful acid ingredients with a high adhesion surfactant system, so it clings to the wheel instead of sheeting off. Longer contact means the acid works effectively at lower exposure, with more control and less risk.
The surfactants encapsulate the loosened contamination for a cleaner rinse, and modern chemical balancing eliminates the harsh acid odor entirely.

The application
Respect it and it rewards you
Use gloves and eye protection, work on a cool wheel, and never let it dry on the surface. Spray, let it cling and work, agitate with a wheel brush, and rinse thoroughly.
Dilute for maintenance cleaning, run it stronger for neglect correction, and save the full strength passes for the wheels that have earned them.

The details that matter
Dissolves heavy buildup
Baked brake dust and metallic contamination come off.
High adhesion formula
Clings to the wheel so the chemistry keeps working.
Controlled exposure
Effective at lower concentrations than legacy acids.
No acid odor
Modern balancing removes the harsh smell, not a fragrance mask.
Dilution scalable
Neglect correction to routine maintenance from one bottle.
Ships from Waterloo
Stocked in Ontario, priced in CAD, and customs never enters the picture.

Questions people actually ask
AWX or Fuego for my wheels?
Fuego for regular cleaning and iron removal. AWX when the buildup is heavy, old, or baked on. Many garages keep both and reach for AWX a few times a year.
Is it safe on my wheel finish?
Used as directed on factory painted and clear coated wheels, yes. Test polished, chromed, or bare metal wheels in a small spot first, and never let any acid dwell dry.
What safety gear do I need?
Gloves and eye protection, minimum. It is a modern, controlled acid, but it is still an acid.
How do I dilute it?
Stronger for neglect correction, diluted for maintenance. Start diluted and escalate only if the wheel needs it.
Why does it smell fine?
The odor was removed through chemical balancing rather than masked with fragrance. It is the same acid power without the misery.
No wheel is a lost cause.
One careful session with AWX brings back wheels you were pricing replacements for.
